The USAT Grant is a military vessel for transporting troops. It is at a dock in Manila, Philippines, it is not Panama Canal related although it may transited the canal at some time.
I have been researching my Uncle’s journey in 1941 to Manila. If you would like a super description of this journey on ths Grant check out the book “In The Claw of the Tiger” where he describes his trip over. My Uncle was also on that exact journey …. from Fort Slocum to Nichols Field, Philippines
